In Scotland the government has announced that all schoolchildren will be back in their classrooms full time from mid-August, as long as coronavirus cases continue to fall.
Ministers in Scotland had planned to implement so-called “blended learning”, combining teaching at school and at home, but some parents said it would be too difficult for them to return to work.
In Wales the government in Cardiff is still maintaining the strictest lockdown rules in the UK. Some measures will be eased soon, but people are asked not to travel more than 5 miles from home unless it’s unavoidable.
In Northern Ireland more changes have come into force today.
